Introducing Myself to You
Introducing Myself to You
I am what I write,
but in the very next moment
I may no longer be there.
There is a woman in me who writes
and another who is born after every word.
She reveals me and, at the same time,
abandons me.
Perhaps I exist only for as long as
something in me is still searching for a name,
because writing fixes me onto
the page precisely when life has
already displaced me.
Who knows, perhaps writing is this:
leaving a trace of who we were
so that another of us may go on.
Kaleidoscope
There is a place in me that never rests,
not because it is lost, but because it was born for movement.
I am made of fragments that never repeat themselves
and yet recognize one another.
A fragment of silence, a shard of music,
a spark of a question that never ends.
When I think I am only one thing, something inside me turns,
bursts into sparks of art, and I become someone else.
And someone else. And someone else again.
There is no contradiction in this. There is geography.
A mind that creates and is perpetually inspired.
Because everything that passes through me does not break me:
it rearranges me.
I am a mirror that learns to change its angle without ceasing to be a mirror.
I am the instant when different ideas meet in the dark
and, without asking permission, decide to create beauty.
I am not a straight line. I am return, detour, spiral.
And, at the center of it all, there is no end.
There is a gaze. A gaze that slowly turns,
as though learning to see again what it had already seen.
If I am asked what I am, I do not answer with a form.
I answer with a movement.
And when everything seems too scattered,
when each part of me seems to be going its own way,
it is precisely then that a simple miracle happens:
the world turns, and I find myself.
Not as a fixed unity,
but as a living harmony.
Like a kaleidoscope.
Always in motion.
Always becoming.
We are light, and we are here.
