About the Author — Wanda Alves by Wanda Alves
I write from the regions where words meet what we still do not know how to name.
My literature is born from a profound observation of existence, of human contradictions,
of the marks that time leaves upon us, and of the questions that remain
alive even after all the answers seem to have disappeared.
Writing has never been merely a matter of placing words upon a page.
It is moving through layers. It is touching the invisible.
It is transforming experience into consciousness and silence into language.
My books do not seek to tell the reader who they should be.
They prefer to offer a mirror, a question, an opening.
Because perhaps literature does not exist to hand us ready-made answers,
but to return us to ourselves with different eyes.
And it is in that space between who we were, who we are,
and what we may yet become that I find the essential substance of my writing.
A place of immersion. A place of finding oneself again.
A mysterious realm where, for a few moments,
the reader can pause before themselves and ask:
“Who am I when no one is looking?”
